FAQs

Questions and Answers with Paul

Q. How much does it cost to hire you?

Paul says: "Price varies depending on what is required and may be influenced by several factors. These include length of performance, travel distance and whether there are any special requirements such as bespoke magic. Obviously a days magic promoting a business at a trade fair in another country costs more than an hour entertaining at a wedding down the road. Each event is special so I will always consult with the client to meet their exact needs."

Q. Can you perform during the dinner?

Paul says: "Whilst people are waiting for dinner to be served is an excellent time to show magic, however, I cannot perform while people are eating and there is food on the table. Much of the magic requires audience interaction and this is nearly impossible when guests are enjoying their meal."

 Q. Do you do kids magic?

Paul says: "Not really. I do have tricks that children will enjoy and I even wrestle the odd balloon into a dog shape from time to time but I don't do much of the classic kids' show shouting and screaming."

Q. Do you just do card tricks?

Paul says: "Not just card tricks, I perform magic with all sorts of things from money to paperclips. That said, I do have a passion for card magic. The most respected close up magician of the last century, Dai Vernon, described card magic as "the poetry of magic" and I'm inclined to agree. These aren't 'Uncle Bob's' tricks with hours of dealing through the pack but modern mysteries designed to intrigue and entertain."

Paul Dewhurst Magician Headshot

"What a star you were onsite. It has been an absolute delight to work with you and the rest of your team both on the day and over the past couple of months.

The feedback we have received has been full of praise much of which is down to your enthusiasm and energy."

Q. We are having a very large event, will you be able to show magic to everyone?

Paul says: "If your event is for more than 200 people I would suggest employing more than one magician. I will happily recommend another magician of very high quality. I have also been involved in organising additional entertainment at events, so if you are looking for more performers, from jugglers to tarot readers, I'm happy to help out with that too."
